7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc...

True resilience is not pushing through alone. When I was young, I was taught that strength meant carrying everything by myself, and it set me back more than once. I have struggled with this and I am still learning to ask for help, to let trusted people in, and to be honest about what I can and cannot handle.
Scaling, for me, comes down to letting go and trusting that the right tech and the right people can do the work I want done and help me stay consistent. Moving forward together does not make me weaker, and it does not mean others will do it with less quality. It means they add their own style. It keeps me accountable, protects my peace, and makes the load lighter so I can take the next right step.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
Y Realty
We’re growing and we’ve secured new funding. Our goal is to help agents thrive in the next era of real estate while keeping the heart of the business the same: relationships. This week was a big step. Next month our new website will be released. As we grow, we hope to inspire those who join us and raise the bar for the industry.
BOOK I’M READING
The Science Of Scaling
My friend sent me this book and told me to read it asap. He was not wrong about it being amazing. It’s a mix between Jim Collins book “Built To Last” and “Awaken The Giant Within”. I’m going to re-read this again in the Winter.
WHAT I’M WATCHING
Storytelling Master
One of the things I want to get better at is storytelling. I’ve been on a journey to get better and I had to re-watch this one because it was a great interview I did earlier this year.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Make something wonderful
This one was great to listen to. It’s inspiring and powerful. It’s a reminder that the things we do come from the love we put into them and the time we spend creating them. Loved this one.
WHAT I JUST BOUGHT
Travelers Journal
I just got this in Downtown LA, and I love it. It’s easy to carry around and jot your notes down on the go. I’m using it to recalibrate my day at the end of the day. I love the size of this one.
ARTICLE I’M READING
The Leader's Guide to Corporate Culture
The authors uncovered five strategies that will help you get more out of your "The Leader's Guide to Corporate Culture" from Harvard Business Review. This piece dives deep into how culture drives performance and why most leaders Your Budget and Your Strategic Plan. CEOs are told to link strategy and budgets, but they often clash because they are built on different frames. Budgets track money by income and expense lines, while strategy is organized around markets, value, or capabilities, which creates confusion, weak execution, and internal friction. The fix is a four step approach that puts your strategy on a stakeholder frame, maps budget lines to those stakeholders, recategorizes the budget under that same frame, and sets targets for what you want from each group. With both speaking the same language, leaders can see the financial impact of choices, have better conversations across teams, and turn strategy into a clear guide for real decisions.
WHAT TECH I’M TESTING OUT
Rejig Ai
All I can say is that I’m going to be using this a lot. This Ai Real Estate company will be pulling news articles for me and summarizing them and making social posts about them that look sleek and attractive. Very impressed with what they are doing.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
The Older Homeowner Safety Checklist. We built this out about a year ago and we’ve been adding to it more and more. It’s a simple google doc that I just did a podcast about too. Let me know if you need a copy by emailing me back [email protected].
Thank you for reading A Brilliant Tribe.
