7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc...

lot of people are fighting silent battles right now. You might not see it in their face or hear it in their words, but they’re carrying things you can’t imagine. It could be stress, loss, loneliness, or just the quiet weight of trying to keep it together.
Kindness costs nothing, but it changes everything. The small things, a smile, a check-in, a moment of patience, can make someone feel seen again.
You don’t need to fix people. Just be someone who doesn’t add to their load. Speak gently, listen more, and remember that everyone’s story has chapters you’ll never read.
So be kind. As often as you can.. You never know what kind of strength it took for someone just to show up today.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
The Chicago Event
Now that we’re open in Illinois we are having our first event there in mid November. If you’re close by it’s a small event of about 3 hours, but it will be jam packed. I’ll be there speaking and shaking hands. I would love to see you there.
BOOK I’M READING
1929
I’m still on this book, but I’ll be done in a few days. This is by far the best book I’ve read this year. Yes, better than Let Them by Mel Robbins, only because this book lays out the details of the greatest crash America has had and it shows the similarities to what we are facing now. Very fascinating.
WHAT I’M WATCHING
How To Film + Edit Voice Over Blogs
This is a simple and good video to follow. She always has great videos that lay out the foundation and the details. You may need to watch this video a few times and pause it here and there, but it does the job. It’s good.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
This Small Mistake Makes People Dislike You
This was a fun one to listen to with some great insight. I’ve never listened to Oz Pearlman before, and it was great! Listen in.
WHAT I JUST BOUGHT
Uniball Gel Pens
Surprise, I ordered more pens. Now these are thinner, but if you’re going to buy these I would suggest buying the .5 not the .38 ones. I love these and I use them daily. This was my second set.
ARTICLE I’M READING
What Makes A Great Negotiator
Negotiation is often seen as a tradeoff between results and relationships, but analysis of nearly 1,000 real negotiations across 50 countries reveals that the best negotiators—called “integrated achievers”—excel at both. They consistently deliver strong substantive outcomes while fostering trust and cooperation. These top performers share four meta-competencies: language and emotional control, negotiation intelligence, relationship building, and moral wisdom. Their strength lies not in style but in skill—the ability to align assertiveness with empathy, fairness, and integrity. For leaders, the lesson is clear: great negotiators are developed, not born, and mastering negotiation requires deliberate practice, measurement, and ethical self-awareness.
WHAT TECH I’M TESTING OUT
Atlas
It’s the new browser for ChatGPT but it’s only for Mac as of now. The one thing I like is that you can use it to search and expand on anything you are searching for on the current website. I’m using it to summarize articles and create teleprompter scripts for the ones I need. It’s pretty powerful.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
Showing Up Better On Social Prompt.
I have this great prompt that is extensive, but really powerful. I just updated it to make it better to help me and you discover how we can show up better on social media based on our strengths. If you need it just email me back to [email protected] and I’ll send it over to you.
Thank you for reading A Brilliant Tribe.
