7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc...

The only way out is to take a step, even a small one. Start by making one call, even if it’s just to your mom like I used to do when I first started. Post one thing to social media. Make one flyer. Just do something and finish that one simple thing. It won’t fix everything overnight, but it will get you moving, and movement is what creates change.
You’re not alone, and you can do this.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
We’re growing at Y Realty. We’re only in California, but we are growing. We just brought in the #3 Agent from Redfin and we are excited that she chose us over any other brokerage out there. If you are wondering what we’re about just email me back and I’m happy to set up a talk.
BOOK I’M READING
The Daily Stoic. I go through this one yearly. I even have a leather copy that looks like a bible, it was a special edition I picked up 2 years ago. This is one book that I love to pick up and read small excerpts from. If you don’t have it it’s been one of my go to books years for the last few years.
WHAT I’M WATCHING
How to build an extraordinary life. I don’t know how or why, but the last couple of weeks I’ve been diving into Tony Robbins a lot more. This one is really good and I took notes while I was listening to it, and I recommend the same thing.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Expanding A Family Dynasty. Marcus Wallenberg Jr's impact on Swedish industry was so substantial that during the 1970s, Wallenberg family businesses employed about 40% of Sweden's industrial workforce and represented 40% of the total worth of the Stockholm stock market. The Wallenberg family is one of the most fascinating family dynasties you could read about. The family has survived — and continues to thrive — for 170 years.
In a family full of talented entrepreneurs and investors Marcus Wallenberg Jr. stands out. This episode is what I learned from reading Furthering A Fortune: Marcus Wallenberg Swedish Banker and Industrialist by Ulf Olsson.
WHAT I JUST BOUGHT
Mini Post It Notes. I got these so I can use them with my Big Ass Calendar I ordered. Yes, that is the official name of the calendar. I’m using the mini post it notes to track the whole year better. I’ve already got it outlined through April and I’m using the post it notes to track what days are family days, what days are for coaching events, and what days are for events I'm speaking at. It’s pretty neat.
ARTICLE I’M READING
5 Signs Your Optimism Is Hurting Your Team. Maintaining a positive outlook is critical for good leadership. Your optimism can inspire your team, drive creativity, and foster a productive work environment. But there’s a fine line between constructive positivity and its harmful counterpart: toxic positivity. It might sound like a made-up problem, but it’s a significant issue in lots of workplaces. When optimism becomes excessive or dismissive of real challenges, it can backfire, leaving your team feeling unheard and alienated. Recognizing the signs of toxic positivity in yourself can be tricky, but it’s key to building real connections and supporting your team. Here are five signs to look out for in how you act, talk, and behave — and better ways to respond.
WHAT TECH I’M TESTING OUT
Easy Street Offers. I had never heard of this and I was hosting an event in Phoenix late last week and one of our panelists spoke about it and said he had created this for agents.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
9 Reasons to reach out to your database. I put this together last week and we haven’t made it into a pretty PDF yet. If you want a copy of it it’s a google doc as of now and I’m happy to send it to you, just text me to 310-356-3715.
Thank you for reading A Brilliant Tribe.
