7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc...

Just a reminder for the end of the year: trying matters. It’s the brave act of showing up, of putting yourself out there even when the path feels uncertain. Don’t let the fear of being outshined hold you back. Remember, those who seem to have it all figured out started exactly where you are—trying, stumbling, learning.

Growth isn’t effortless. It’s messy, imperfect, and sometimes it feels like everyone else is ahead. But every step you take, no matter how small, brings you closer to the person you’re becoming. Your effort is proof of your courage.

So, don’t let comparison dim your light. The world needs people who are willing to try, willing to care, and willing to grow. Because in the end, it’s not about outshining anyone—it’s about becoming the best version of you.

Keep going. Trying counts more than you know.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT

1 Year of Shooting A Podcast Daily. We did it. We’ve gone for one year shooting a podcast and video. We have a small group of you who are daily listeners and I appreciate that. This podcast is designed to be of quick impact and I strive to give value daily.

BOOK I’M READING

The Road. I had never read this fiction book before, but my daughter just finished reading it in her class and she said I would love it. I really did. It’s a Pulitzer prize winning book, a movie, and a graphic novel. It’s not for everyone, so make sure you read the summary first before you purchase this one.

WHAT I’M WATCHING

Using an S-Corporation. Everyone should be doing this as an independent contractor/business owner. My friend Mark Kohler talks about this in a short video and it’s jammed packed. I’m looking to bring him in for a webinar again, but in the meantime watch this video.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

How to win the war with yourself. This one is with Ryan Holiday, the guy who wrote the Daily Stoic. It’s a great podcast that puts the crux of the matter right in the palm of your hands. Many of you need to listen to this one.

WHAT I JUST BOUGHT

Join Warefare. I got this a few weeks ago and it took away the sore body feeling I get after working out. Initially it was Jocko’s team that told me about it when I interviewed their head of product. I just reordered it and I love this product.

ARTICLE I’M READING

Nervous about public speaking? Speaking in front of a smaller group is different than speaking on a large stage. Hearing your own voice over the speakers, being elevated above your peers with all eyes on you in an unfamiliar environment — these factors pull you out of your comfort zone and can trigger a fight or flight response, which can manifest itself as your mind going blank, either in the middle of the presentation or while fielding tough questions from the audience. So what can you do to prevent this fear from becoming a reality? Bring notes. They can make a big difference in the delivery of a presentation, especially if it’s your first time on a stage. The key is knowing how to prepare them, and then how to use them effectively in the moment.

WHAT TECH I’M TESTING OUT

Real Estate Content Ai. This is one I tested out again, specifically the feature where I put in a link to my listing from any website and it converts it into a social media post. This thing is amazing and it's a new company too, so I'm excited to see where they go from here.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON

December Social Media Calendar. It’s that time of the month! We’re changing up the calendar for 2025 so this will be the last time it looks like this. Stay tuned and please let me know and I’ll text it to you. You know the drill just text me to 310-356-3715.
