Howdy reader,
Navigating the challenges of the Downmarket in 2008 was instrumental in shaping my professional evolution. In fact, it’s what has allowed us to keep doing well in this current market of 2023.
Although I had financial setbacks during the great recession, amounting to losses in the hundreds of thousands, I learned how to grow in a down market and that’s what I want to share with you in the next few days. I’ll be sending you emails and videos so please watch them because I’ll be opening up about what is working and what isn’t so you can quickly succeed.
Through my experiences, I identified several pivotal techniques. I wish to highlight today and these are three primary strategies:
1. Leverage Existing Strengths: It's essential to optimize skills we already possess. My quick success in real estate as a first year in 2004 came from my proficiency as a telemarketer. It enabled me to first adapt to door knocking and making calls and then as the market shifted to harness online leads effectively, creating numerous opportunities. What are your strengths that you can tap into?
2. Implement Automated Customer Relationship Management: Efficient follow-up systems are crucial. To this end, I incorporated CRM tools, predominantly Followupboss and Chime, to streamline my processes. What are the current tools you have right now that you aren’t using? Some of them are already there for you for free and you just have to use them!
3. Personal Growth and Reflection: Investing in oneself is paramount. I began the practice of journaling to document my thoughts and strategies. Initially, I employed a traditional journal, but in 2011, I transitioned to the 'Day One' app. This allowed me to think deeper about where I was going and what needed to be done in my business. What I found is that the clearer I was with my intent to succeed and my plan for growth the better I could execute on it.
