Event Summary:
Elena: Did an outstanding job hosting the event and moderating it.
Dave Culen, COO of Y Realty, provided insights on the current real estate market. He explained that while the market remains hot in most of Southern California, it’s cooling in states like Florida and Texas. He also noted that interest rates will likely hover around the low 6% range for now.
Tristan Ahumada (that’s me), CEO of Y Realty, shared the story of creating Lab Coat Agents and spoke about a challenging incident where he was wrongfully accused of making derogatory comments about women. He reminded the audience that negativity—whether to your face or behind your back—should never stop you from trying new things, even if others think they’re bad ideas. The lesson? Keep moving forward and testing new concepts. “Crazy only looks crazy until it works.”
Real Estate Panel: Susan Johnson, Fredy Rodriguez, Seemrin Patel, and Nicole Farnum discussed how the bulk of their business comes from referrals. Each panelist shared a different approach for their secondary source of closings, ranging from online leads and farming, to Facebook groups and mailers. This panel was insightful, highlighting that referrals remain the cornerstone of real estate success.
Social Media Panel: Katherine Materiale, Yvonee Khoo, Claudia Soto, and Valerie Van De Zilver energized the audience with strategies on everything from Facebook ads to organic Instagram Reels showcasing property tours. They even touched on using a radio show uploaded to YouTube and engaging with audiences through comments on social media. This session was jam-packed with useful information.
Janki Patel gave a great talk on lead generation and conversion. She shared how she leverages Virtual Assistants and tech tools to create more business opportunities, demonstrating how she uses her Lofty CRM to mass text her database and re-engage leads.
Dave Medina delivered the closing keynote, emphasizing the importance of having clear personal values. He shared his powerful story of nearly dying and his journey of recovery after a kidney transplant, reminding us that life’s challenges at work aren’t as daunting as they may seem.
Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for the Virtual Event Date!
