Tristan’s 7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc...

Hopefully this helps some of you out there…

I have negative thoughts. I have heavy moments. I still feel doubt, frustration, and emotional weight just like anyone else.

The difference isn’t that those thoughts don’t show up for me. It’s that I’ve practiced not living in them for very long. Sometimes it’s a few seconds. Sometimes it’s a minute. But I’ve learned how to notice the moment I’m spiraling and gently pull myself back.

That didn’t happen overnight. It came from practice. From repetition. From choosing, again and again, not to let a hard moment turn into a hard day or a hard season.

I really believe our mind works like a muscle. The more we train it, the more strength and awareness we build. This is why I love journaling daily. Just to get my thoughts in order and figure out how I can improve daily and weekly. And even though we’re naturally conscious beings, connected to something deeper than just our thoughts, it takes daily work to peel back the layers we’ve picked up from life, expectations, and society.

I share this not because I have it all figured out, but because if this practice has helped me move through hard moments with more clarity and peace, I know it can help someone else too.

Stay strong out there.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
The 5 Day Challenge

We’ll be having a 5 day challenge that will focus on identifying and executing on your priorities. I call it The Process. If you’re interested in joining this one let me know.

BOOK I’M READING
How Democracies Fall

In college we read books like this and we dove into the constitution in law school and this book gave me a lot of insight on world democracies. Harvard professors Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt have spent more than twenty years studying the breakdown of democracies in Europe and Latin America, and they believe the answer is yes. Democracy no longer ends with a bang, in a revolution or military coup, but with a whimper: the slow, steady weakening of critical institutions, such as the judiciary and the press, and the gradual erosion of long-standing political norms.

I gravitated to this one because late last year I read the book 1929 which was well written. This was a great video.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Gaming is Marketing Now

This was one of my favorite sessions I’ve done recently. I was listening to this again because even though I did the interview I know I missed a couple of key things that I would love to implement. Powerful session that opened my mind to a new strategy.

WHAT I JUST BOUGHT
Hobonichi Journal Calendar

You may have seen this journal on a couple of my videos, and if you haven’t you may love this one. I just ordered another one to track my morning and evening routines on a calendar. I use my other one to track how I spend my day so I know how to optimize my time.

ARTICLE I’M READING
Dancing and Dementia

A widely shared lifestyle article this week highlighted a study suggesting that dancing, which combines exercise, social connection, and cognitive effort, may reduce dementia risk by as much as 76%, outperforming many other recreational activities.

WHAT TECH I’M TESTING OUT
Day One

This is a journal app I’ve been using since 2011. And I’ve been pretty consistently using it the same way. Last week I decided to explore the app more and decided to make a couple more journals within the app. One of them is a business journal to recap the wins and losses I had through the day so I can reflect and grow better. Just testing out more of the apps capabilities.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON
My Content Triangle

I’ve been refining how to help agents and business owners show up better on social media. I created the STAY formula while working with META a few years back and now I have 3 additional options for simplifying the process of creating content. Because we all know content is the biggest challenge when it comes to social media.  If you want this just email me back and I’ll send it to you. [email protected].
