Tristan’s 7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc...

Just in case you missed this, this was pretty powerful. Take a moment to read through it just in case you can’t watch the video on Netflix.  Eric Dane’s final words to his daughters (and to all of us) from his Netflix special Famous Last Words.

He said he wanted to leave them four things he learned from living (and dying) with ALS. I hope you hear him the way he hoped they would:

1. Live now. Right now. In the present. The past is full of regrets. The future is unknown. The present is all you really have. Treasure it. Cherish every single moment.

2. Fall in love. Not just with a person (though he recommends that too). Fall in love with something, your passion, your joy, your purpose, your dream. Find it… then go for it. Really go for it.

3. Choose your friends wisely.  Find your people. Let them find you. Give yourselves to them fully. They’ll entertain you, guide you, support you… and sometimes they’ll even save you.

4. Fight — with every ounce of your being, and with dignity.  When life hits hard (health, loss, anything), never give up. Fight until your last breath. This disease took my body… but it could never take my spirit.

He ended with: 

“Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. I wasn’t sure if this Game of Thrones series was going to be good or not, but after episode 4 I knew I had found my favorite new show on TV. If you love fantasy books this is for you! The story revolves around a virtuous knight and a young squire, very powerful.

^{WHAT I’M LISTENING TO}
The $2 Trillion Mind. This was surprisingly great. I wasn’t sure what to expect when listening to a billionaire being interviewed on a podcast. It’s about the intersection of massive wealth, high-speed decision-making, and the psychological traits required to survive the AI revolution.

^{WHAT I JUST BOUGHT}
A New Cap. Well, I found a cap I didn’t know I needed. It’s a mighty mouse hat! It’s a company I have ordered from before and I love the way it fits.
