Tristan’s 7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc... (1)

One thing we don't talk about often in business is how much a sick family member or just being sick can drain you. It can take you completely out of your groove. I've gone through it multiple times in some cases pretty hard, but I want you to know that when you're down even the smallest action towards your priorities counts.

You don't win by going all in all the time. The wins happen over time, in a process, step by step. Small action by small action. Some days you give it more than others. Some days you need to rest, and some days you don't stop. It's a harmony.

If you're down, know that many of us have been there. Just show up a little bit. Then a little bit more tomorrow. A tiny bit more the next day. It builds. It counts. You matter.

Make a habit of showing up daily. Even a tiny little bit.

What I’m Watching:

YouTube Success in 2024. This isn’t a short one so don’t watch it unless you really have time to listen and take notes. I did this over the New Years weekend and I took notes and I jotted the down the examples of Youtubers we should look at to emulate. It’s a very very good session to listen in to.

What I’m Listening To:

Thoughts For 2024: I did a two part series here where I dove into what you should be proritizing for 2024. They are both short, but start with the link I have here and then listen to Part 2.

What I Just Bought:

Classic Soft Cover Notebook. I really love the softcover notebooks from Moleskine. This is on sale so I picked it up plus I love the color red. Lots of color options too. It also comes with the option to have dotted pages instead of lined so that was what got me over the edge. I will be using this one to outline my social media plan for Youtube.

Article I’m Reading:

Reframe it to solve it. Research shows that companies devote too little effort to examining problems before trying to solve them. By jumping immediately into problem-solving, teams limit their ability to design innovative solutions. The authors recommend that companies spend more time up front on problem-framing, a process for understanding and defining a problem. Exploring different frames is like looking at a scene through various camera lenses while adjusting your angle, aperture, and focus. A wide-angle lens gives you a very different photo from that taken with a telephoto lens, and shifting your angle and depth of focus yields distinct images. Effective problem-framing is similar: Looking at a problem from a variety of perspectives helps you uncover new insights and generate fresh ideas. This article introduces a five-phase approach to problem-framing: In the expand phase, the team identifies all aspects of a problem; in examine, it dives into root causes; in empathize, it considers key stakeholders’ perspectives; in elevate, it puts the problem into a broader context; and in envision, it creates a road map toward the desired outcome.

What Tech I’m Testing Out:
