Tristan’s 7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc...

In 2001, Warren Buffett gave a talk at the University of Georgia. He asked them the most Warren Buffett question ever:

If you could invest in a friend and get 10% of their income for life -- who would you pick? Once the students answered the question, he then asked this:

Why would you invest in that person? • What character traits do they have? Now they have a list of character traits to adopt. Shortly after this, Buffett asked: If you could short a friend's earnings, who would you pick and why?

Now you have a list of character traits to avoid.

What I’m Excited About:

Real Estate Prospecting. The book is doing really well on Amazon, and the kindle edition has been picking up steam now. If you haven’t picked up the book yet take a look at the kindle edition, some of you are enjoying that more because of the charts and graphics too.

Book I’m Reading:
Improv Wisdom. A professor at Stanford recommended this book to me and I’m finally getting to it and I love it. Patricia Madson distills thirty years of experience into thirteen simple strategies, including “Say Yes,” “Start Anywhere,” “Face the Facts,” and “Make Mistakes, Please,” helping readers to loosen up, think on their feet, and take on everything life has to offer with skill, chutzpah, and a sense of humor.

What I’m Watching:
The Real Reason Most People Don’t Product Content. This is a keynote Gary did at Aldar Experts event in Abu Dhabi during his last visit to the UAE, he talks about the reason most people don't produce content, shares some practical advice on how to leverage social media platforms and underpriced attention to grow your business and much more!

What I’m Listening To:

Humanity and Trust. Nicci's infectious energy and radiant smile are matched only by her dedication to empowering others to look and feel their best. She is not only an impactful educator but also a true advocate for empowerment within the beauty industry. Her journey as a revolutionary figure in the cosmetics field has gained her a loyal following on social media, with a vibrant presence on Instagram and TikTok. Listen to this one please.

What I Just Bought:

Magnetic Countdown Countup Timer. I tend to go over all meetings. When I coach I go over, when I’m in a meeting I go over… So I got this counter. It now sits on my desk and it helps me keep track. Let’s hope it works.

Article I’m Reading:
Home prices will jump 6% in 2023 and another 7% in 2024. Well, everyone is jumping on the bandwagon now. Many are saying the housing market will start going up as soon as later this year. This article gives some good information.

What Tech I’m Testing Out:

CapCut. I’ve now to the point that I use this daily. I use the app and I use the desktop. When you need to edit a video quickly I wouldn’t recommend anything else. Try it and watch the video I made on how easy it is to use as well.

What I’m Working On:
August Social media Calendar. We got it ready just in time. We’ve been making these better and better so let me know if you want a copy. Text me to (310) 356-3715 if you want a copy.
