Tristan’s 7+1: What I'm reading, watching, listening to, etc...

We often talk about growth between friends and families, but we often find that people do the opposite.

We often talk about growth between friends and in families, but we often find that people do the opposite. The challenge is that we have up to 70,000 thoughts a day, according to the Cleveland Clinic, and most of those thoughts are not new. They are the same thoughts from the previous day, week, or month.

Our daily job is to challenge our status quo. We must do our best to continually be learning new things. Making new connections. Going to new places…

Your relationship with yourself will determine how you see the world. Make sure that relationship is being taken care of.

Let’s go!

What I’m Excited About:

Learn Video Easily. Business Video School is running a free session on August 15th. They’ll showcase what Business Video School does along with some give away items (PDF’s) you’re going to immediately use for your business. Register here.

Book I’m Reading:
A Hero With A Thousand Faces. This is a classic and I’m finally reading it. I’ve heard so many amazing things about the book and so far I’m only a few pages in and I love it. I’m on a journey to become a better storyteller, and what if my friends recommended this book to me.

What I’m Watching:
3 Editing Hacks For Your Videos. Casey Neistat is legendary on Youtube, and this video does a great job breaking down the edits that matter. Learn all about the power of visual storytelling, the art of using text, and the captivating effect of constant scene changes.

What I’m Listening To:

TRewiring For Happiness. This is one of the most downloaded podcast episodes I have. People really gravitate to this one because of the authenticity behind it. We go over some details that we don’t usually talk about anywhere else so hang on tight, you’ll really like this one.

What I Just Bought:

Pongo. I got this one from my son over the weekend. He has a bunch of stuffed animals and he loves the jelly cat brand. If you’ve got little kids and they love stuffed animals and this is going to be one they will like to have for their collection.

Article I’m Reading:
3 Questions Sales Teams Should Ask After Losing (or Winning) a Deal. When salespeople lose a deal, most prefer to move on rather than linger over the specifics of the loss. Similarly, when they win a deal, most are quick to celebrate. But very few take the time to assess why they won the business. In the authors’ experience leading and coaching sales teams, they see evidence that a brief, well-pointed sales retrospective, where you unpack the reasons behind a win or a loss, can significantly improve a team’s future win rate. Beyond the obvious benefits for the sales team — for whom the process can help identify the best messaging and behaviors to use going forward — unpacking wins and losses also provides valuable insights for product, marketing, and finance teams. Teams should ask three questions: 1) How would the customer articulate the value of their choice? 2) Who was the most influential voice in and out of the room? 3) Beyond price, what were the key deciding factors in the client’s decision?

What Tech I’m Testing Out:

Feathery. I just started playing around with this, looks interesting. We’re looking to use something like this to build out a good onboarding experience for our agents and coaching clients.

What I’m Working On:
10 Things You Should Be Working On. I’m in the process of creating a longer PDF on this. We’re going to go over it in Group coaching today as well, but I’ve got a quick overview if you want to see it. Just text me and my team or I will send it: 310-356-3715
